Members of the Rochester Catholic community will be celebrating the election of Pope Francis on Sunday.

The Diocese of Rochester will be holding a prayer mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral Sunday evening. The service will be led by Father Edward Salmon, who is president of McQuaid Jesuit High School. Sunday's prayer service will coincide with Pope Francis's first Sunday service as pope.

The mass is open to the public and begins at 5 p.m.
