One of the West Webster firefighters injured in the Christmas Eve ambush threw the ceremonial pitch at a pre-season game between the Yankees and Red Sox Wednesday.
Joseph Hofstetter is a lifelong Yankees fan and he was greeted by a standing ovation Wednesday as he walked on the field in Tampa, Florida.
One of his favorite players, outfielder Brett Gardner, was behind the plate.
Hofstetter, who is also a Rochester firefighter, was shot in the pelvis during the attack in December.
