Police: Rochester man stole from RIT professor

A Rochester man faces charges in a case police say involves a RIT professor who was found dead earlier this year.
24-year-old Javan Simmons is charged with third-degree grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument.
Police say Simmons opened a bank account and deposited a check belonging to Edline Chun. Police say Simmons then withdrew $5,000.
According to Rochester Police, Simmons pleaded not guilty in Rochester City Court Monday morning.
Chun's body was found in Tyron Park in February. Police say she was robbed and shot to death. Jerrell henry and Natalie Johnson are charged with murder in connection to Chun's death.
