In an effort to help make Rochester a healthier community, Dixon Schwabl is donating money to the American Heart Association.
CEO Lauren Dixon, President Mike Schwabl and their employees made a contribution of more than $6,000 on Monday.
The money was raised through a three-month campaign started by employees Kathy Ritchie and Megan Steenburgh.
Dixon said, “It's really important to know your number. That's what we're all very focused on. There were surprises on the way for some team members including my husband. He's changed some things in his life that's why its important to know your number.”
During the campaign, Dixon Schwabl's American Heart Association team increased heart disease awareness through the sale of flowers, Heart Walk t-shirts and getting family members to join the 27-person Heart Walk team.
