A Brighton native, now living in Watertown, husband had quite the night Thursday night.
Betsy Gartrell Zeller says her husband was coming home from work at the same time police were searching their neighborhood for the suspect. She sent pictures of her husband who she says was pulled over by police and searched.
The picture also appeared in the Boston Globe Friday morning. Finally, they cleared him, but told him his car had to stay where it was so he ran home to his family.
Zeller says she and her family are okay, but a bit shaken. She watched police outside her windows all day and SWAT teams came and checked her basement and crawl spaces. She said all of the events Friday were nerve wracking.
Zeller said, "It was a pretty alarming evening. I think it's taken us until now to calm our nerves a bit so we've been glued to the television for hours now. On Monday this, the whole city, everybody knew somebody who was down at the race. I knew friends who heard it and saw things that they will never be able to erase from their memory."
She says they spent most of the time in the center of their home, away from any windows.
