A 77-year-old West Bloomfield man has been arrested on animal cruelty charges.

Sheriff’s deputies say Harold Enos had a cat and its kittens living underneath his home on Factory Hollow Road. According to investigators, Enos trapped the mother, drove her 20 miles away and released her, leaving the kittens to survive on their own.

The Humane Society is working to trap the kittens to bring them back to its facility for care.

Enos is due in court at a later date to answer to the charges of animal cruelty and animal abandonment.
