Rochester Police say a 17-year-old girl was shot on the city's west side Monday afternoon.

Around 3:30p.m., police arrived to find the 17-year-old on the ground on Lynchford Park B. Police say it appears she was shot at the corner of Danforth and Zenith Streets and tried to run away, only making it as far as Lynchford Park B.

Police say the 17-year-old was shot in the upper right torso and is in the intensive care unit at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Police don't know what led to the violence, but they say this is not a random incident.

Police say they are hearing from witnesses that the teen is pregnant, but police are not confirming that to News10NBC. Police are also not releasing her name and her condition at this time.
