The seventh annual Fast & The Furriest race/walk will be held on Saturday, June 8. This year’s goal is to raise $60,000 to support the Verona Street Animal Society in Rochester.

The event, which includes 5K and 10K races, a one-mile dog walk and pet festival, hopes to highlight the City of Rochester’s animal services center, increase adoptions and garner volunteers.

Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard said, “This event is great for our community. It brings people down to the City to enjoy activities in a safe and fun environment while enabling us to enhance our programs and services.
