Electronic cigarettes were designed to give users a similar experience to smoking. The battery powered products have liquid nicotine that is turned into a vapor, which is then inhaled.
Some users call this "vaping" not smoking. And it's been touted as a safer alternative, because the e-cigarretes don't contain tobacco and other harmful products.
Dr. Gary Wahl, of Rochester General Pulmonology, was on Roc City Tonight, to talk about concerns over these devices and if they are safe.
