The University of Rochester says work is being done on the HVAC system at Strong Memorial Hospital Friday night.
The University of Rochester says a utility incident off its property caused the system to go down around 7:30 p.m. Then, the university says a relief valve on a gas line got stuck open. That forced emergency crews to shut down portions of Elmwood Avenue as a precaution.
Its since been closed and the gas has dissipated. Crews are now working on restoring the HVAC to the hospital.
However, it says there are no temperatures or health concerns because temperatures are suppose to drop overnight.
