Democrats in Irondequoit vowed to bring in a new era of progress and cooperation on Saturday.
The group kicked off its 2013 town and county campaigns Saturday morning with a rally at Camp Eastman.
Among those running is Joe Morelle Junior, the son of the Assembly Majority Leader. He wants to continue to represent the 17th District, which is half of Irondequoit, in the Monroe County Legislature.
Lorie Barnum and Dave Seeley are running for Town Council. Adam Bello will challenge Mary Joyce D'Aurizio for the Irondequoit Town Supervisor position.
"The town government in Irondequoit should be a partner with people who want to invest in the town and bring big new projects to fruition and it shouldn't be an obstacle to progress and to the future,” said Bello.
Bello is the chief administrator for the Monroe County District Attorney's Office and a lifelong resident of Irondequoit.
