Rochester Mayor Tom Richards announced Tuesday that he has been endorsed by the Independence Party in his bid for reelection.

“Over these past two years, my mission as Mayor has been to unite Rochester – a recognition that we can only move forward if we work as one city,” said Mayor Richards. “While I intend to be victorious in the September Democratic primary, I am proud to run with the Independence Party’s support this fall. I pledge that I will continue to work collaboratively with all people of this city to grow our neighborhoods, keep our streets safe and provide economic opportunity for those we seek it”

Richards is running against current Rochester City Council president, Lovely Warren, and local businessman Alex White.
