Many of you told your elected officials about why the state should restore funding to programs which service people with disabilities and on Tuesday they not only listened, but took action.
Tuesday afternoon the New York State Senate passed a bill to restore the $90-million that was originally eliminated.
The proposed cuts, which News10NBC told you about back in March, were part of Governor Cuomo's budget and would have hurt organizations like the Arc of Monroe.
Lawmakers say they plan to use savings from other state expenses to replenish the program.
Governor Cuomo has said he will sign the bill now that it has passed lawmakers.
