County Executive Maggie Brooks introduced Monroe Community Hospital's new executive director and deputy director Friday.
Gene Larrabee will take over the position of executive director and Colleen Rose will serve as deputy director.
Rose comes from the Fairport Baptist Home where she worked as director of strategic initiatives.
Larrabee most recently served as executive director of county health care facilities in Albany. We asked him what his plan is for the hospital in the wake of the firing of former director Todd Spring. He said, "The plans are to move ahead, continue the commitment to excellence, continue the mission, you know, I’ve been in all sectors of this industry and that's another thing that attracts me about this particular position -- the public sector has the ability to adapt a mission that helps those that nobody else will."
Both Larrabee and rose will begin their new positions in July. Larrabee's appointment will have to be confirmed by the County Legislature at its next meeting.
