A group of children from New York City are visiting the Rochester area for the next week or two as part of the Fresh Air Fund Program.

Thirty-five children arrived to meet their host families. The idea with the Fresh Air Fund is to give children a chance to leave behind city streets in exchange for what they don't see all that often, green grass and stars at night.

News10NBC met up with one woman who has been hosting David for four years now and looks forward to it every year.

Meredith Ferraro said, "All the stuff around here, Seabreeze, the museum, just being outside, going to the park, having a good time. This is the best part, having him is the best part of the summer."

The children will be here for up to two weeks with their host families.
