It's a new initiative to get employees to work where they live. The Rochester City School District plans to kick off the school year with a new program geared to provide grants to all employees who move to the city of Rochester.
The district plans to give ten $3,000 grants toward a down payment or closing costs on a home. If they are first time homebuyers, they could also receive an additional $3,000 from the city.
Officials say it is not based on income, just strictly on residency.
