Fireworks lit up the sky downtown Thursday as Rochester celebrated Independence Day.

The fireworks display was the finale to the holiday celebration on the Main Street bridge that kicked off at 7 p.m.

People who came downtown were able to enjoy live music performed by the Jimmie Highsmith Experience, though that performance ended early due to some light rain.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra was also scheduled to perform.

At the Riverside festival site there was more live music, food drinks and an art tent.

But the main attraction was of course that fantastic fireworks show.
