With a win over Pawtucket Thursday night, the Red Wings climb closer to first place. It's still a long climb to the top, but another win over the first place Red Sox Friday night will help.
The Red Wings have been playing good baseball as of late, winner of three straight, due in part to a man who has become a must see. Every time Chris Colabello steps up to the plate, he is adding to his league leading stats. The 29-year-old is batting for average and power, .359 and 21 home runs. The entire country is taking notice.
Earlier in the week, Colabello was named to the Triple-A All-Star game, receiving the most fan votes. Colabello has not gone into a slump this season. The most consecutive games he has gone without a hit this season is just two, that'll explain the .359 average.
Colabello is in his usually spot Friday night against Pawtucket, playing 1st and batting 3rd.
