Hundreds of cyclists across the country are in our area. It's part of the statewide's "Cycling the Erie Canal" initiative.
The tour of the canal, which started Sunday in Buffalo, will end Sunday in Albany.
On Monday, the group took time to visit Genesee Valley Park, Schoen Place in Pittsford and Nazareth College. Organizers say the campaign is a way to promote tourism and help boost the economy along the canal.
More than 500 cyclists are taking place in this year's canal bike tour. Some events are open to the public. To see the daily schedule, and find out more about the "Cycling the Erie Canal" tour, click here.
