Three Rochester firefighters returned home Saturday afternoon. They were in Arizona where they remembered 19 of their brothers who were killed battling a wildfire last week.

Deputy Chief John Kearney and firefighters Roger Rebman and Doug King were in Prescott, Arizona for the memorial service.

News10NBC talked to them about why they decided to go this past week.

"We do it for the families. We could send the guys off and give them the tribute and the respect they deserve, and just to comfort the families and make it easy for them,” said King.

The 19 firefighters were members of an elite group called "Hotshots". They were building a line of protection between the flames and a community.
