Hundreds of participants came together Saturday night to honor cancer survivors and their caregivers and to pay tribute to those for whom a cure did not come soon enough.
The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event was held at Pittsford Sutherland High School.
Participants take turns walking, running and circling a track "relay" style to raise money to help fight cancer.
This is the third year of the event and organizers say they're very happy with the success they've seen over the years.
"It's really nice to see the event still going, still a success. I think there are over 300 people here, so it's really great to see it still going, still kicking and raising a lot of money for a good cause,” said organizer Carrie Demoulin.
More than $70,000 was raised in the first year and the event has only gotten bigger and better since.
