Rescue near Genesee River early Friday morning

One person was taken into custody following an early morning rescue from the Genesee River run in downtown Rochester. It happened below the Broad Street Bridge near the Rundell Library building at around 3:30 a.m.

Fire officials say passersby saw two men down at river level and called the fire department. When rescue crews arrived at the scene, one man was being questioned by police. We are told that man had minor injuries that were treated at the scene.

We are checking with police to find out if he will face any charges.
