News10NBC is learning more about the man accused of killing a mother and daughter from Sodus and the moments leading up to their deaths.
Dante Taylor was arraigned on murder charges Wednesday. Investigators say he stabbed Terri and Stacey Moulton to death on July 14. On Wednesday, he claimed he's not guilty.
Investigators say the Moultons were at a friend's home, checking on the cat, while the friend was out of town. When they didn't return home after a few hours, Terri's husband, who is also Stacey's father, went over there and that's when he found their bodies.
Police believe the women walked in on Taylor burglarizing the home. The district attorney says Taylor has an extensive criminal history.
Rick Healy, Wayne County District Attorney, said, "The last sentence he received was a determinant sentence and he was released when he had to be released under the law. He was not granted parole, it was actually a determinant sentence and he served that determinant sentence so he had to be released."
Taylor is also facing charges for a burglary investigators believe he committed just days before the murder. He'll be back in court for a motions hearing next month.
