A Henrietta man has been charged after sheriff's deputies say he assaulted his mother with a baseball bat.

Eric Winston, 28, of Henrietta, is charged with assault. Sheriff's Deputies responded to a home on Clearview Drive Monday morning for a woman locked in a garage after her son had assaulted her with a baseball bat. Sheriff's Deputies say Winston also cut the power to the garage door, but deputies managed to get inside and safely removed the victim from the garage.

The woman was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is listed in satisfactory condition. Winston is in the Monroe County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.
