Mediterranean-style diet may lower risk for Type 2 diabetes

Following a Mediterranean-style diet stocked with veggies, fish, fruit and olive oil may lower the risk for Type 2 diabetes.
Researchers in Italy studied more than 20,000 adults and found those who followed a Mediterranean diet and ate little to no carbs, were 20-percent less likely to develop diabetes.
They say diets that are high in carbs and fat can lead to rapid rises in glucose and insulin levels, which may increase the risk for the disease.
