A Monroe County Sheriff's sergeant was at the right place at the right time and stopped an armed robbery in progress Friday.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office received a call around 1:00p.m. Friday for an armed robbery at the Express Mart on East Henrietta Road in Henrietta.
At the time, the sheriff's office says Sgt. Robert Murphy was waiting at the traffic light across from the store. He pulled into the parking lot, entered the store and saw the suspect facing the counter with a knife in his hand. The sheriff's office says the suspect immediately put the knife down and was taken into custody.
The suspect's name has not been released yet.
