Imagine riding your bike for more than 400 miles. A Rochester attorney is doing just that.
Peter Pullano began the 2013 AIDS Red Ribbon Ride at 8:00a.m. Wednesday at Trillium Health on Monroe Avenue. It's a 400 mile, five-day fundraising bike ride through the nine county Finger Lakes region.
Since 2004, Pullano has raised almost $50,000 for AIDS charities throughout New York State in memory of his brother, Patrick, who died from AIDS in 1991.
Pullano said, "It's been my living memorial to my brother since he died. I got very involved way back when and there wasn't a stone or a marker, that wasn't what he wanted, but it was sort of to carry on the fight. We've lost a lot of people since, we've helped a lot of people since then and I think most importantly we've educated a lot of people too."
