From the highest peak in the Northeast to an island off New Hampshire's coast, dozens of communities will pay tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.'s historic "I Have a Dream" speech.
Most of the Granite State events revolve around 3 p.m. - when bells will ring nationwide at the approximate time King made his stirring speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. 50 years ago.
Some events will show videos of the speech. At a Laconia temple, shofars will be blown.
Atop Mount Washington, Appalachian Mountain Club members and crew from the observatory will ring bells. The chapel bell on Star Island in the Isle of Shoals also will be rung.
Dartmouth College will show the documentary "No Easy Walk" before a community bell ringing.
