The McQuaid Jesuit Cross Country team hit the ground running Thursday. They are taking part in a 25 hour relay. At least one runner will be circling the track at all times until 11:00a.m. Friday.
Organizers say it's an annual event which serves as a team bonding exercise while raising money for others.
This year, the young boys decided on their own to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club. The money will go toward creating an afternoon meal program and their coach says he's proud of the team's decision.
Some of the members for the Boys and Girls Club also took part in the relay. The team hopes to raise $5,000. In total, they will run more than 250 miles.
