Funeral services have been set for the former army sergeant who fought against the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
Former Sgt. Darren Manzella's funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 3 at Saint Dominic's Roman Catholic Church in Brocton starting at 11 a.m.
Prior to the funeral, calling hours will be held on Monday at Morse Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and then 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Manzella died Thursday night in a crash on Route 490 near Exit 25 when he was hit while pushing his car following a separate crash.
Manzella was discharged from the military in 2008 for "homosexual admissions." Since his discharged, he was a vocal critic of the policy which has since been rescinded.
