Man charged in deadly Pittsford crash released from hospital

The man charged in a deadly crash in Pittsford last month has been released from the hospital and is now in the Monroe County Jail.

Michael Weber was released from Strong Memorial Hospital and is now in the Monroe County Jail. He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the second degree and reckless driving. Weber was also issued several traffic citations. He was ordered held in lieu of $75,000 cash bail.

Sheriff's deputies say Weber hit a speed limit sign and mailboxes before slamming into a tree on East Street, near Thornell Road, in Pittsford. It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Monday August 26. The passenger in the car, 20-year-old Joel Ajavon, was killed by the impact.
