It was a piano concert in the rain, but that didn't stop from some people from coming out for the "Pianos for Peace" celebration at the Gandhi Institute.
There were piano performances, speakers and plenty of food.
The event was held to wrap up the "Pianos for Peace" project where 11 pianos were placed in different areas and left there for three weeks for people to enjoy.
News10NBC caught up with the project organizer about why music is so important for this community.
“It is really important to bring people together over a positive thing such as music, such as a piano. People who may have never played piano before can just come and stumble upon it and just express themselves in ways they may have never had the opportunity to,” said Marissa Balonon-Rosen, “Pianos for Peace” organizer.
The pianos will remain at the Gandhi Institute until the end of the month.
