A new study on breast cancer and mammograms says we might be starting those tests too late.
Currently, health officials recommend only women over 50 get mammograms. Researchers at Harvard say the most aggressive cancers target younger women and a majority of those women had not gotten mammograms.
The study looked at 600 women who had died from breast cancer. One half of those women were under 50 and doctors say that those cancers seemed to develop quickly. They also found that only one-third of the subjects had gotten a mammogram.
