A special day for a family from Webster as they welcomed their son home from the Army for a few weeks.
Sergeant Mark Soucy is home for three weeks on leave. His friends, family and some area veterans were at the Greater Rochester International Airport Friday morning to welcome him home after nine months in Afghanistan.
Sergeant Mark Soucy, of Webster, said, "I was in Afghanistan for nine months, did some good stuff over there, bettered the country and now it is someone else's turn."
Lisa Soucy, Mark's mother, said, "He's a good man. I missed him a lot. It's great having him here, it's going to be sad to see him go back, but he's a good soldier and it's what he has to do."
Sergeant Soucy's family got another surprise when he came home. They found out Sergeant Soucy and his girlfriend are now engaged. He says the thing he's most looking forward to when he's home is just relaxing.
