Friday, some wounded warriors from across the country arrived in Rochester, welcomed by family and friends. On Saturday, the group took part in the Rochester River Challenge at the Genesee Waterways Center.

The event--which is a canoe race--gives soldiers an opportunity to come together and talk about their experiences and to heal.

Veteran Daniel Gilyeat says "We, as veterans, get to get together with other guys or girls that we haven't seen in a while or haven't met and interact and learn how to talk about some of the issues we deal with daily. So it's a great stress reliever."

This is the 17th year for the Rochester River Challenge and the ninth year that a group of Wounded Warriors has come to participate.
