The New York State Police will participate in National Child Passenger Safety Week from September 15 through Saturday, September 21.
Troopers, along with local law enforcement and highway safety experts, will participate in a campaign to make sure all children are buckled up safely when they're on the road. State Police say that there will be daily checkpoints and patrols enforcing the state seat belt laws.
As part of Safety Week, State Police remind parents to read and follow the instructions for their child's booster seat. New York state law also mandates that kids are required to use a child safety seat up to the age of 8.
