Focusing not only on senior citizen's health, but their wellness too. That's the goal of a new program by Legacy Senior Living Communities.
The company announced that it has expanded its selection of wellness programs and activities. The change comes after the formation of an advisory board, which took a look at what things Legacy's residents needed most. The programs will focus on the seven components of wellness: physical, spiritual, emotion, intellectual, vocational, creative and social.
Officials say the programs will fill the holes that medicine can't fill.
Steve DiMarzo, Chief Operating Officer, Legacy Senior Living, said, "Medicine isn't always the fix. Community makes people happy, eating healthy makes people physically well. There's also a portion of vocational piece to our wellness program, to learn from where people have come from and have them impart knowledge to folks who wouldn't normally be aware of those things."
Legacy currently has workshops planned through the month of May. For more information about Legacy and the workshops, click here.
