It's not often you get money back from the power company, but you could soon, if you are a customer of RG&E, National Grid and NYSEG.

It will be a one-time credit on your electricity bill. Right now, we have calls into RG&E to find out how much money you will see on your bill. On average across the state, the credit will be about $3.

All three power companies in our area will have to refund a total of $17.5 million.

The credits are part of a statewide settlement with utility companies and the Public Service Commission.
