The Rochester Police Department says a 23-year-old man is recovering Saturday after he was stabbed early in the morning.

News10NBC is told officers were dispersing bar crowds in the area of East Avenue and Alexander Street just before 3 a.m. when they received a report of a man who had been stabbed.

Police say they located the victim and he was taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. At last update, he was listed in stable condition.

At this point, it's not clear what led up to the stabbing, but investigators say that several people were taken into custody for questioning at the scene. Two individuals were also arrested for attempting to interfere with the investigation.
