They are diseases affecting so many families.
Tuesday night families in our area had the chance to ask questions about caring for loved ones who have Alzheimer's or Dementia.
The "Alzheimer's or other Dementias Care Program" was held at Ridgemont Country Club in Greece.
Last week a report showed many people who have these diseases are being cared for by their own families.
Experts talked with the families about ways to help their loved ones and take care of themselves too.
“So many families feel isolated because they don't necessarily understand their family member's behaviors. So it's important to engage as many organizations that can help,” said Mary Joy Lipari, owner of Home Instead Senior Care.
Like she said there are many organizations that can help, including the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. You can check out their website here.
