Certain electronic devices may get the green light for usage on board airplanes.
The FAA may soon be relaxing some of its restrictions on the usage of in-flight electronic devices. The agency is meeting this week and is expected to announce new guidelines by the end of the month.
If the current rules are relaxed, passengers would be allowed to use e-books, tablets and other publications, along with previously downloaded podcasts and movies.
The ban will still remain in place for all forms of communication, including phone calls, emails, text messages and wi-fi.
In a recent survey, up to one third of passengers said they've accidentally not turned off their devices during takeoff and landing.
