Rochester Police have released the name of a man who was shot Wednesday afternoon on the city's northwest side. Police say he was shot in front of his 2-year-old son.
Police were called to Saranac Street just before 5:00p.m. Wednesday for the report of shots fired. When they arrived, police say they found David Henry, 25 of Rochester, in the backyard of a home with gunshot wounds to his mid torso. Henry was transported to Strong Hospital with life threatening injuries. He is in guarded condition.
Police say Henry was in front of the home taking his 2-year-old son out of the rear seat of a car when the suspect pulled up in a vehicle and began shooting at the car. The 2-year-old child was not injured. A second car was also hit.
Police are still looking for a suspect. They are asking anyone with information to call 911.
