The third and fourth shows coming to the Rochester Auditorium Theater as part of the Rochester Broadway Theater League's 2013-2014 season are “The Grinch” and “The Sister Act”. If you have never taken your kids to the theater, presenter Albert Nocciolino says “The Grinch” is a a great place to start.
Nocciolino said, “It's really cool! “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” will be coming here and is totally family friendly and for many children, this might be the first show they ever see on stage or the first Broadway show they've ever seen on stage. They'll go away with this incredible experience. We hear that often from young people who come to the family shows.”
Once the kids have the bug, you can bring them right back to the Auditorium Theater for another familiar story, “Sister Act”.
Nocciolin said, “You have all these incredible actors portraying the nuns, running around trying to protect the Whoopi Goldberg character from the movie and all the music that comes along with that. It's just, I think, it's a show that I think will really resonate again with people who traditionally go to the theater, families and people who don't go to the theater because I think it will be familiar and provide some comfort in coming for the first time. If they've never been to the theater, we're excited about it. I think they are two shows that will bring people into the theater that don't normally come."
"The Grinch" will be on stage from December 10-15 and "The Sister Act" will be on stage from February 11-16.
