Wegmans has new requirements for any farmer selling produce in its stores.
Starting Monday, all growers will have to show they've passed a particular food safety inspection.
The federal "Good Agricultural Practices" audit makes sure growers are minimizing chances for fruit or vegetable contamination.
Wegmans started requiring it in 2008 but it only applied to high-risk crops like spinach. The company says nearly all growers they use already passed the audit.
