We know there is a lot of information to remember, with the new health care act, so here are some of the things you need to know.
You need to have some kind of health insurance under the law, otherwise, you'll pay a fine.
You can get insurance through your employer, medicare, or through plans offered by the state. Signing up for those plans begin this coming Tuesday.
We checked in with officials at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester General and Unity Health System. Rochester General and Unity tell us staff is being trained on what they need to know.
Here's what Dr. David Lambert, Dean of Medical Student Education at the University of Rochester Medical Center had to say, about staff being prepared.
“It is important for them when they interact with patients, to understand what options are available for them, what obstacles does her or she have, what benefits do they have so that you can provide the care that you want too.”
Again, sign ups for the plans start Tuesday.
