Police in Wayne County have charged eight people in a drug ring that they say had been going on for years.
Police say the arrests come after a two-year investigation into the sale and distribution of cocaine around Wayne County, along with parts of Ontario and Monroe Counties.
The investigation targeted Horace Betts III, who police say was the ringleader of the operation. Police say they were finally able to make the arrests after they witnessed Betts and two other suspects involved in a drug sale.
Police say a portion of cocaine was seized, along with $21,000 cash. Betts and two other suspects have been indicted by an Ontario County Grand Jury.
