_With October being breast cancer awareness month, the Hilton Cadet girls soccer program held a special fundraiser Tuesday night.
The four teams, modified a and b, JV, and varsity, all wore pink jerseys during their games at Hilton High School. Players and parents sold carnations to help raise money for the American Cancer Society and the Making Strides Against Cancer.
Izzy Slater said, "we're helping make people aware of breast cancer and just helping out our community and we get to see it in our community how we helped them."
Over the past three seasons, the Hilton Cadets have raised $15-thousand for cancer research. Just this past Sunday, during another fundraiser, five teams from the soccer club, Hilton Heat, were able to raise over $4-thousand to fight breast cancer.
They were recognized during the varsity game halftime tonight.
