Rochester Police have called him a “ruthless killer” and on Wednesday, a Monroe County jury found him guilty of shooting and killing two men, wounding two others and stabbing a fifth man during a 17-day period last summer.
Jermaine Johnston was found guilty of two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of assault for the crimes that started on June 26 and ended on July 13.
Prosecutors say Johnston went on a crime spree during that time and stabbed a 41-year-old Jamie Cuyler and stole his handgun. Police say he used that weapon to shoot and killing 29-year-old Omar Lynch and 19-year-old Tommy King. He also say he shot Michael Ramos and Anthony Pearson.
His attorneys say they will appeal the verdicts.
