How important is manufacturing to the local economy?
Officials and industry experts will gather at RIT Friday to discuss that question.
In recognition of National Manufacturing Day, university, business and political officials will discuss how the local economy is affected by manufacturing, and the need for skilled workers to keep local companies competitive.
RIT is hosting the National Manufacturing Day forum at the Golisano Institute for Sustainability. The provost of the Golisano Institute will speak at the conference, along with Rochester City Council President Lovely Warren and representatives of local businesses and economic groups.
The symposium begins at 10 am at the Institute for Sustainability on the RIT campus.
