The two men accused of shooting and killing a 19-year-old outside a shoe store in Gates last year were found guilty of murder Monday.
A Monroe County Jury found Kesean McKenzie-Smith and Williams Wilkins guilty of second-degree murder.
The shooting happened in the early morning hours on August 31, 2012. McKenzie-Smith and Wilkins tried to rob 19-year-old Montre Bradley, who was outside the “Street Game” shoe store on Chili Avenue, waiting to buy a new pair of shoes. During the attempt, McKenzie-Smith and Wilkins shot and killed Bradley.
In addition to murder, the men were charged with three counts of first-degree robbery in the and two counts of first-degree attempted robbery.
McKenzie-Smith and Wilkins will be sentenced on November 12. They face up to 130 years to life in prison.
